It's all about balance.

If this card shows up for you in a reading (depending on the question asked) you might be displaying energy similar to the 2 of pentacles. The tarot may be suggesting its time to take a good hard look at where you are expending your energy. It could be time to make a decision on how many things you can realistically manage/juggle.
The number 2 is still early in the game of any given suit in the tarot and offers you choices. A choice could come in the opportunity to change direction in order to start something new (the suit of pentacles often relates to career), or it could manifest in the realization that you may be able to let go of some self-imposed obligation that is no longer serving you.
